When the Great Satan Steps into the Region, It Pursues Other Goals: Iranian Ambassador on Peace Treaty

We welcome the efforts being made by Armenia and Azerbaijan to achieve peace. We are against war and in favor of peace. This was stated today by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mehdi Sobhanin, during a conversation with journalists at the Iranian Embassy.

“There is no alternative to peace in the region; peace must be established in the region. This is our principled stance. We welcome and support the dialogue that is taking place between Armenia and Azerbaijan to establish peace,” he said.

Referring to the fact that the United States has intensified its efforts to sign a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the ambassador remarked, “As for the US, we believe that when the Great Satan steps into the region, it pursues other goals. Instead of relying on the peace, security, and well-being of the region’s peoples, they pursue other objectives. If they want to bypass and exclude certain countries from these negotiations, it indicates that their intentions are not genuine. We desire comprehensive peace.” The ambassador added that the US uses its toolkit to achieve its objectives.
