Former Deputy Minister Recognized as Victim of Police Violence, Says 'Factinfo'

During a protest outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ashot Harutyunyan has been recognized as a victim of police violence, and a criminal case has been initiated. This information was reported by lawyer Arsen Babayan.

Recall that on May 31, participants in the movement held a protest in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the police detained several citizens, including former Deputy Minister Ashot Harutyunyan, who was not engaging in any illegal activity and was, in fact, trying to calm the situation according to footage available.

The police did not only detain him, but also used force against him, resulting in Harutyunyan suffering a concussion and spending several days in the hospital. Following his hospitalization due to the use of force by the police, there has been a need for him to undergo examinations abroad.
