A 5-Meter Python Swallows a Woman in Indonesia

A woman has been swallowed by a python on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. According to The Asean Daily, the incident occurred while the 30-year-old woman was on her way to fetch medicine for her child.

The media reported that the event took place in the village of Siteba. When the woman did not return home for a long time, her family initiated a search and found her sandals 500 meters from the house, and 10 meters off the trail, they discovered the swollen python.

The family killed the snake and, upon cutting open its skin, found the woman's body inside. The publication notes that this is the second incident of a python swallowing a person in the area since the beginning of summer; previously, a 45-year-old woman became the victim of a five-meter long python, raising significant concerns among local authorities.
