Two Deaths Reported in One Day at Armavir Penitentiary
The Armavir regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings on the grounds of 'murders' (sudden deaths), as reported by shamshyan.com.
According to the source, on July 1 at approximately 01:45, a call was received at the Vagharshapat police department from the 'Ejmiadzin' medical center, indicating that a patient with a diagnosis of 'throat swelling, cardiogenic shock' had been transferred from the Armavir penitentiary. The individual, who was in the intensive care unit, subsequently passed away without regaining consciousness.
Police and investigators determined that the deceased individual was 57-year-old convict Hovhannes K., who experienced a sudden deterioration in his condition at the Armavir prison around 22:30 on June 30, after which he was transported to the 'Ejmiadzin' medical center, where he succumbed.
On the same day at around 11:40, the 'Ejmiadzin' medical center reported to the Vagharshapat police department that a patient had been admitted from the Armavir penitentiary with a diagnosis of 'septic shock' at approximately 08:20. The individual, who was also in the intensive care unit, passed away without regaining consciousness.
It was revealed that the deceased was 59-year-old convict Gagik H., whose condition had significantly worsened in the Armavir penitentiary around 22:10 on June 30, leading to his transfer to the 'Ejmiadzin' medical center, where he also died.
No signs of violence were found on the bodies upon external examination.
