NATO Countries to Allocate Over $40 Billion in Military Aid to Kyiv by 2025

NATO countries have agreed to allocate €40 billion (approximately $43 billion) in military aid to Ukraine by 2025. According to Reuters, citing two unnamed Western European diplomats, this decision is expected to be formalized during the NATO summit scheduled for July 9-11.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg previously called for member countries to commit to an annual assistance of €40 billion to Ukraine; however, this proposal did not gain support, as reported by Reuters. Nevertheless, NATO countries have agreed to review allies' contributions in future summits of the alliance.

According to the agency's source, the member countries have decided to prepare two reports over the next year detailing what each country specifically supplies to Ukraine. It is anticipated that this initiative will promote a more transparent distribution of the burden among countries.

The commitment to provide €40 billion to Ukraine next year is part of a broader package of measures directed at Ukraine, which NATO leaders will negotiate at the upcoming summit in Washington, as emphasized by Reuters.
