Contract Soldier Dies from Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound to Neck: Details
The circumstances surrounding the death of contract soldier Sargis Khachatryan have come to light. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
On July 3, 2024, a report was received from military unit N of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, stating that around 00:45 of the same day, while performing his duties as an observer at one of the combat positions of the military unit, contract soldier Sargis Arthur Khachatryan accidentally shot himself in the neck with his assigned rifle. He was subsequently transported to the garrison hospital, where he was declared biologically dead at around 02:20 after failing to regain consciousness.
