What Are We Not Doing That Prevents Reports on Artsakh from Reaching the Heart of the UN?
During a forum on Armenian democracy, Gegham Stepanyan, the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, questioned why the work done by both sides is not reflected in the reports sent by UN delegations and the European Commission's human rights commissioner.
"What is the reason that the work done by us and your side is not expressed in the reports from the UN delegation, or the report of the Council of Europe’s human rights commissioner? What are we not doing that prevents this work from reaching the so-called human rights delegations' hearts and minds?" he stated.
Stepanyan also raised a critical inquiry about the next steps in documenting the facts of the genocide in Artsakh. "Should we ultimately address the issue of the rights of the Artsakh people to return, or not?" he asked.
