We Can Finish Work on the Text of the Peace Agreement in a Few Months: Aliyev Makes Proposal

We are moving quite quickly in the negotiation process, and I believe we can finish work on the text of the peace agreement in a few months. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev while addressing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.

“Let me inform you that during the occupation, the mediators' plan was to reach an agreement on the main principles known as the Madrid Principles. They were to be initialed and then confirmed. We believe that this way it is possible to reach an agreement on the main principles, initial them, and then work on the text,” he noted.

President Ilham Aliyev mentioned that “this will happen if the Armenian side changes its constitution.”
