Trump Holds Partial Immunity, US Supreme Court Rules
The US Supreme Court has ruled that Donald Trump holds partial immunity. Conservative Chief Justice John Roberts stated that the president enjoys "absolute immunity" for official actions taken during his term. "There is no immunity for unofficial actions," Roberts said, sending the case back to a lower court to determine whether the charges against the former president relate to official or unofficial conduct.
Donald Trump called this decision a victory for democracy. "A great victory for our Constitution and democracy. I am proud to be an American," he wrote on his Truth Social platform.
