Sanctions Against Armenian and Georgian Winemakers Being Prepared in Ukraine

For over a year, local winemakers united under the "Ukrvinprom" corporation have been seeking sanctions from Ukraine against several wine producers and brands from Georgia and Armenia, whose products are sold in Russia. This was reported by epravda.com.ua.

At the end of May, "Ukrvinprom" sent a list of these producers to the Security Council, proposing to ban their trade activities, capital withdrawal from Ukraine for 10 years, the use of trademarks and domain rights, the cancellation of licenses, and more.

The list includes 17 companies, notably the renowned "ARARAT" and "Sarajishvili" brandy producers, along with the Georgian "Askaneli Brothers" wine producers. Among the listed are the Ararat Brandy Factory, MAP, the Yerevan Brandy Factory, the Proshyan Brandy Factory, the Avshar Wine Factory, Astafyan Holding, and Vedi Alcon.

Market participants are calling for a more balanced approach regarding the implementation of sanctions, as these products are in demand in Ukraine, and widespread bans could lead to the emergence of counterfeit goods in the market.
