Greece Adopts Six-Day Workweek
The emergence of a six-day workweek in Greece pertains to continuously operating enterprises that implement a five-day work system for their employees. The six-day workweek officially began on July 1, as reported by OT.
Greece has become the first country in the EU to adopt such a workweek, as previously noted by the Olympia publication. This provision was introduced in the autumn by Adonis Georgiadis, who was then serving as the head of Greece's Ministry of Labor, and the measure faced significant criticism and negative feedback.
The law does not apply to various sectors, including tourism and food sales.
