Areyan Discusses Repeated Damage to Arzni-2 Water Pipeline in the Harazdan Gorge
It is unacceptable to leave the water pipeline in the flowing river. This was stated by Kamo Areyan, the advisor to the Mayor of Yerevan, during a working consultation of the city administration while discussing the repeated damage to the Arzni-2 pipeline in the Harazdan gorge.
It is noteworthy that on June 27, it became known that the "Arzni 2" pipeline had been damaged, leading to a suspension of water supply to several addresses in the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan from 18:30 on June 27 until 23:00 on June 28.
According to him, "Veolia Water" was fortunate enough to shut off the valve in a timely manner to prevent cases of water contamination in Arabkir.
He mentioned, "Work on cleaning the riverbed has begun. If these works are not carried out, there is no guarantee that such damages will not recur periodically." Areyan added that appropriate measures have been taken, and on the following day of the incident, at 23:00, the water supply was restored.
The Mayor's advisor expressed hope that the entire collapsed section would be cleared in a short time, the riverbed would be adjusted, cleaned, and the pipeline would be freed from the water flow.
