American Troops Deployed in Germany Prohibited from Wearing Uniforms Off Duty

American troops stationed in Germany have been prohibited from wearing their uniforms outside of work. This was reported by the U.S. Department of Defense's Stars and Stripes newspaper.

The decision was made for security reasons. According to the newspaper, military personnel at the Spangdahlem Air Base must now travel in civilian clothes and are not allowed to wear uniforms in public.

At the same time, no additional information has been provided. Earlier, it was reported that several U.S. military bases in Europe have been placed on a heightened state of readiness due to potential terrorist threats. The security level was raised to the second highest tier, amid concerns that a terrorist attack could target U.S. military personnel or facilities.
