Iran's Presidential Candidates to Participate in Two Debates

Iranian presidential candidates Masoud Pezeshkian and Said Jalili will participate in two televised debates on Monday and Tuesday, ahead of the second round of voting scheduled for July 5, reports Iran's national television.

Additionally, documentary films will be shown about the two presidential candidates and their speeches to the public during the campaign, according to Mehr.

The extraordinary presidential elections in Iran have gone to a second round after no candidate was able to secure 50% of the votes, according to results published on Saturday. According to the final tally released by the electoral headquarters on Saturday, the former health minister Masoud Pezeshkian received the most votes, totaling 10.4 million. His closest rival, former chief negotiator on the nuclear program Said Jalili, came in second with 9.4 million votes.
