Iran's Leader Casts Vote in Presidential Elections Within Minutes of Polls Opening
The Supreme Leader of Iran and spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, cast his vote in the presidential elections within the first moments after the polls opened. According to IRIB news channel, Khamenei stated, "Election day is a day of joy and happiness for us Iranians; increased participation is essential for the Islamic Republic."
The country's leader emphasized that the "power, dignity, and honor of the Islamic Republic" depend on the participation of Iranians in voting.
There are four political figures competing in Iran's presidential race: three conservatives and one reformist.
