220 Adults Under Care in Armenian Orphanages
Approximately 220 adult citizens are residing in two round-the-clock care facilities under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in Armenia, according to a response from the ministry to a query from "Azatutyun".
At the "Mari Izmirlian Orphanage" State Non-Commercial Organization, 26 citizens over the age of 18 are currently in care, with the oldest being 24 years old.
Meanwhile, the "Kharberd Specialized Orphanage" State Non-Commercial Organization has 194 individuals aged 18 and above living in its residential facilities. The oldest resident in Kharberd is 54 years old. Among those receiving care, there are 85 individuals aged between 18-24, 63 between 25-30, 22 aged 31-35, 15 between 36-40, 5 aged 41-45, 3 between 46-50, and 1 individual aged 50-55.
During the question-and-answer session in the National Assembly on June 12, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the topic, stating that there are individuals aged 40-50 receiving care in orphanages in Armenia.
