Nine Young Scientists and One Opera Singer Exempted from Military Service
The government, in its session on June 27, decided to grant exemption from compulsory military service to Walter Tigran Berberian, Armen Samvel Avetisyan, Varuzhan Tigran Yapujyan, Garik Levon Adamyan, Arthur Gagik Lalayan, Arshak Ashot Nersisyan, Vahe Voskani Poghosyan, Vardazar Khoren Kotanjyan, and Hrant Armen Topchyan. This decision is based on the expansion of their knowledge acquired during their scientific activities and opportunities for continued intellectual creative work aimed at obtaining and applying new knowledge.
The decision will allow these nine individuals to continue their professional and research activities and contribute to science.
In another decision, the government exempted Navasard Kamo Hakobyan from compulsory military service. The 26-year-old Navasard Hakobyan studied at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and, since his second year, has been a performer in the youth opera program of the Alexander Spendiarian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. During the 2018-2021 theater seasons, he played leading roles. Since 2019, he has collaborated with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and has regularly performed in various concert programs.
As of 2022, Navasard Hakobyan is a young artist at the Houston Grand Opera in the USA, representing the Republic of Armenia. The program lasts 3 years and aims to prepare the artist for performances on international prestigious stages. In 2018, Navasard Hakobyan received the President's award of the Republic of Armenia, and in 2019, he was recognized as the best student by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
