Esai Karamyan, Victim of Police Special Operations, Interrogated Today

Attorney Manush Esayan reports on her Facebook page that Esai Karamyan, who was injured in police special operations, has been interrogated today. She states, “Dear journalists and interested parties, I inform you that we have received the decision recognizing Esai Karamyan as a victim, and he has been interrogated today. I would also like to note that Esai has been recognized as a victim under Article 441 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which concerns abuse of power or exceeding authority by an official.” She expressed hopes for a fair investigation.

It should be noted that Esai has sustained injuries not only to his right hand but also to the palm of his left hand, as well as his chest and abdomen. He primarily suffered shrapnel injuries and burns. One or two large pieces of shrapnel have been removed by doctors from his chest, while they have indicated that the remaining pieces will emerge over time.
