New Detection System Launched in Russia
A highly advanced airborne target detection system has been launched in Russia. Near Moscow, a unique airspace control system has begun operations, capable of detecting not only helicopters and aircraft but also mini and micro drones at extremely low altitudes. This information was reported by the newspaper "Izvestia," citing the developers.
According to the chief engineer's deputy of the Tula "Central Design Bureau of Machine Engineering," this system can detect the most complex aerial targets. "Making it so that a radar can see a fighter or bomber is achievable by any manufacturer in the world. However, we can detect aerial targets like crude drones the size of a piece of paper. We can observe how it works with rough drones, which carry a maximum camera such as the Mavic 2; we are guaranteed to detect them from up to 4 kilometers away," the chief engineer's deputy stated.
The company reported that the first of such systems are already operational in the vicinity of Moscow.
