Baku Responds to Armen Grigoryan's Statement

The Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, has responded to the statement made by the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, who claimed that Russia came, took Artsakh from the Armenians, and handed it over to Azerbaijan.

Hajiyev stated that this "statement is nothing more than an attempt to cover up the defeat of Armenia's former and current military-political leadership, to shift the blame onto others, and to justify themselves." He added, "By voicing their words on the battlefield, the Azerbaijani army crushed the Armenian army in the 44-day war, achieved a complete military victory, and ended Armenia's 30-year military occupation. In September 2023, as a result of anti-terrorist operations, the remnants of the Armenian army, which continued to be illegally stationed in Azerbaijani territory, were disarmed in less than 23 hours, and Karabakh was completely liberated."

"More than $5 billion worth of weapons and ammunition of the Armenian army were destroyed or captured as loot. We regret to note that such statements indicate that the dreams of revanchism still linger in the minds of Armenia's military-political leadership," Hajiyev stated, also advising, "We recommend that individuals in Armenia’s military-political leadership completely abandon their fantasies of revisionism and revanchism and stop the policy of militarization so as not to repeat historical mistakes."

We recall that earlier, it was reported that Russia came, handed over Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan, and returned to Russia.
