Video: Possible Price Review Needed in Some Areas, Says Deputy Mayor Regarding 'Red Lines'
“Red lines” have at least relieved the city, and our citizens are finding parking spaces more frequently, that is undeniable. This was stated by Yerevan Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan during a conversation with reporters, addressing the issue of whether the increase in costs for the “red lines” aims to alleviate the city's congestion. However, parking remains a challenge even during lighter hours.
“If you consider a specific day, at a specific time, over several days, I do not exclude that what you mentioned might happen. However, in general, the red lines have at least relieved the congestion, and our citizens are more frequently finding parking spaces, that is unequivocal,” Grigoryan said.
He added that there might need to be a price review in certain areas. In response to a clarifying question about whether prices should be increased, he said, “If the increase does not help us achieve our goal, then by the end of the year, the council may further review the prices, and possibly even the parking restrictions within the context of overall alleviation.”
