VIDEO: For the First Time in History, Soil from the Far Side of the Moon Has Reached Earth
The Chinese Chang 'E-6 spacecraft has successfully landed, bringing soil samples from the far side of the Moon to Earth for the first time in human history. On the morning of June 2, the Chang 'E-6 probe made a successful landing in the largest of the famous lunar craters, the South Pole-Aitken basin.
The probe collected samples from the surface of Earth’s satellite using a robotic arm and a special drill. This is China's sixth mission under the Chang'e lunar exploration program.
