So They Have Done Something That Led to Arrests: Vahagn Aleksanyan
So they have done something that has led to arrests; if no one has committed any illegal act, the likelihood of his arrest is close to zero. This was stated by Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly from the ruling Civil Contract faction, during a conversation with NEWS.am, reflecting on the recent arrests and detentions of leaders in the cities of Artsakh.
“So there is something there. We have all heard the wiretaps, we know who was doing what and for what reasons. It is prohibited in Armenia to pay people to take part in protests. That is criminal behavior, and if anyone does such a thing, it should receive the appropriate legal assessment, and punishment should follow. The Armenian government is trying to provide maximum support to the people of Artsakh,” Aleksanyan noted.
“We are currently discussing the housing provision program for the people of Artsakh. How many former leaders and officials from Nagorno-Karabakh are major developers in Armenia today? How many of them are constructing multi-story buildings? Meanwhile, when we take a 20-year mortgage to buy a house, the opposition media turns it into a scandal, but when former leaders from Nagorno-Karabakh are building multi-million dollar buildings here, that’s considered normal,” Aleksanyan added.
