What Caused the Explosion at One of the Hotels in Aghveran and the Condition of the Injured: Details

A criminal investigation has been initiated regarding the explosion that occurred at the security post of the "Ararat Resort" hotel, under the characteristics of the first part of Article 412 of the Criminal Code, and the circumstances of the incident are being clarified. Gohar Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, informed NEWS.am today, June 24.

“The explosion resulted in injuries to a 39-year-old security employee, who sustained burns to his face. There was a surveillance camera in the area; the footage has been seized and examined. According to preliminary findings, the explosion occurred due to gas accumulation in the area. The windows of the security post were damaged as a result of the explosion,” he added.

“The injured citizen is currently in the intensive care unit, and his condition is assessed as serious but stable,” reported the National Center for Burns and Dermatology. “Only the security post was damaged as a result of the explosion; the hotel did not sustain any other material damage. The hotel continues its normal operations,” stated the "Ararat Resort" hotel complex in Aghveran.

It is worth noting that the explosion occurred yesterday, June 23, around 07:30 at the checkpoint of the "Ararat Resort" hotel complex, resulting in one civilian injury.
