VIDEO: Missile Strike in Russia Injures 124, Including 27 Children
As a result of the missile strike in Sevastopol, 124 individuals sustained injuries of varying degrees, including 27 children. This was reported to the press by Alexei Kuznetsov, the assistant to the Russian Minister of Health, according to TASS.
Kuznetsov stated that the evacuation of the injured from medical facilities in Sevastopol is ongoing, with more than 20 emergency response teams working on-site. "Additional doctors have been brought in from other regions to provide medical assistance to the injured, including healthcare workers from the Republic of Crimea," he noted.
Earlier, the governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, reported that the number of those injured in the missile attack had approached 100, with the death toll reaching three. The deceased include two children and one adult. “The entire healthcare system is mobilized, and doctors and healthcare staff are at their posts,” the governor emphasized.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the attack on Sevastopol was conducted using American-made ATACMS long-range missiles, which were equipped with cluster munitions. Russian air defense forces managed to intercept four missiles, while another projectile was diverted from its flight path due to the effects of air defense systems and exploded in the air over the city's territory, the military department noted. Razvozhayev stated that the fragments of the intercepted missiles fell in the coastal area.
The Investigative Committee has announced the initiation of a criminal case under the terrorism article (Article 205 of the Criminal Code) regarding the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Sevastopol. “The Russian Investigative Committee is clarifying the circumstances of the incident and identifying individuals involved in the terrorism, whose actions will be legally assessed,” the agency reported.
It is also noted that June 24 has been declared a day of mourning in Sevastopol in memory of those who lost their lives in the missile attack. All cultural, sports, and other mass events will be canceled, as announced by Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev.
