A fire broke out in oil-filled reservoirs in the town of Azov, Rostov, due to a drone attack, reported the region's governor, Vasily Golubev. Preliminary information suggests there are no casualties.

According to the governor’s statement, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has organized firefighting efforts. Golubev did not specify the object that was attacked. The Azov area is home to the ‘Azovskaya Neftubaza,’ a subsidiary of ‘Donnefthprod,’ as well as the ‘Azovskiy’ oil refinery. The Ministry clarified later that the area of the fire in Azov covers 5,000 cubic meters.

A firefighting train has been dispatched to the scene, with 73 specialists and 21 units of equipment involved in the firefighting operations. There are no reported injuries. A laboratory from Rospotrebnadzor has been sent for air quality monitoring,” the agency stated.

The Mash Telegram channel, citing local residents, reported hearing at least five shots in the sky. The ‘Rostov News’ Telegram channel also reported, referencing locals, that a methanol production facility in the port area was on fire.

Last time the governor of Rostov region reported a drone attack was on June 15, when air defense forces shot down several UAVs near Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. Debris from the drones fell on an industrial site, damaging the glazing of a non-residential building, but there were no injuries.
