Nissan Hits Police Vehicle and Flees: Shots Fired, Bullet Casings Found
Today, June 23, there was a dramatic police pursuit and shots fired in Yerevan. Around 14:30, a patrol officer from the Yerevan unit of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs attempted to stop a "Nissan Teana" vehicle on Arin Berd Street under suspicion. However, the driver did not comply with the officer's legal stop order and fled, hitting the patrol vehicle in the process. This information is reported by shamshyan.com.
According to a photojournalist at the scene, seeing that the driver was not yielding and had fled, the patrol officers pursued the vehicle until they reached Mantashyan Street, where the "Nissan Teana" collided with an "Opel" vehicle near building 41. During the pursuit, the patrol officer fired shots at the left front tire of the "Nissan Teana". When the "Nissan" collided with the patrol vehicle, the airbags deployed, resulting in one or two officers being taken to the hospital.
Two bullet casings were also found on Arin Berd Street. The driver's apprehension occurred on Mantashyan Street, where the patrol successfully detained the driver of the "Nissan" and took him to the Shengavit Police Department. The emergency response team, group 61, also provided assistance to the driver of the damaged "Opel". An operational team from the Shengavit Police Department arrived at the scene to determine the identities of the drivers and the officers transported to the hospital.
