Flights Canceled in Manchester Due to Power Outage
All flights at Manchester Airport in northern England have been canceled or delayed due to a significant power outage.
“Manchester Airport has experienced a large-scale power outage this morning. A criminal investigation has been initiated regarding cases of embezzlement,” stated the airport's press service. A substantial number of flights are expected to be delayed or canceled, particularly in the first and second terminals.
Some arriving aircraft have been diverted to other airports. Later, the press service clarified that “power supply has been restored,” and the airport management is “working to ensure that passengers get to their flights as soon as possible.”
According to Sky News, queues have formed in the terminals as a result of the disruption. Passengers scheduled to depart in the afternoon are advised not to come to the airport until further notice to avoid creating additional queues.
