Secret Letters Revealed on Military Cooperation Between Belarus and Azerbaijan

Recent secret letters regarding military cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan have come to light, as reported by the American publication, Politico. On June 13, Politico reported that Belarus, a partner of Armenia in the CSTO, secretly sold weapons to Azerbaijan. The American media outlet has obtained over ten letters, diplomatic notes, sales invoices, and export documents that indicate Belarus actively supported the Azerbaijani armed forces from 2018 to 2022.

The offered services included the modernization of old artillery systems and the supply of new equipment for electronic warfare and drones, according to Politico.

Additionally, the documents contained letters from Belarusian state agencies related to contemporary artillery orders from Azerbaijan addressed to their own defense industry companies. Correspondence between Belarusian and Azerbaijani state bodies regarding the acquisition of the 'GROZA-S' portable anti-drone system has also been leaked.

One diplomatic correspondence states that Belarusian enterprises played an active role in the 'restoration of Azerbaijan's de-occupied territories, as well as in the export of Belarusian goods and services to Azerbaijan.'
