Prosecutor's Office Appeals Release Decision of Spitak Haiko's Son

The Prosecutor General's Office is determined to take measures to detain singer Haik Ghevondyan's son, Hrachya Ghevondyan, at all costs. According to the newspaper Jhohrood, the Prosecutor's Office has appealed the decision to release the famous singer's son.

“As is known, on May 23, Hrachya Ghevondyan was released from the courtroom after the court rejected the investigator's request to detain him due to lack of substantial suspicion. The investigative committee stated that an attempt to forcibly seize power had been prevented. A charge has been brought against the son of the singer known to the public as Spitak Haiko for preparing to seize power, and a request was made for his detention.

The investigative committee released a video in which a man expressed dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's policies: ‘There’s one way here—to invade the government, to enter the National Assembly and take it, to invade the police building. Now I’m ready to die, let them shoot me, it’s better for 10-20 people to die, but, my friend, you have to save the country.’

The investigation claims that the author of these words is Hrachya Ghevondyan, who intended to seize power with a group of individuals. However, the law enforcement agencies have not yet identified who these individuals are. According to the investigative body, there was also consideration of implementing this plan at a rally.

Ghevondyan does not accept the charges against him. His lawyer stated that the recording is edited, taken out of context, and that his client had no intention to seize power,” the media outlet reports.
