Video: British Environmental Activists Deface Stonehenge

Environmental activists demanding an end to oil extraction have splashed paint on the Stonehenge megalithic structure in Great Britain. This was reported by LBC, a local radio station.

According to journalists, the incident took place the day before the summer solstice. The activists drenched at least two massive stone monoliths in orange paint.

The organizers of the action are members of the Just Stop Oil movement. They have demanded that the UK government sign a legally binding agreement to phase out the use of fossil fuels by the end of the current decade. If the authorities do not comply with this demand, Just Stop Oil plans to involve supporters from Norway, Austria, and other countries in their protests.

According to the British police, two people have been arrested following the defacement of Stonehenge. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak commented on the incident on his X platform (formerly Twitter), stating that the protest is a "disgraceful example of vandalism" against one of the world's oldest monuments.
