Russia Plans to Withdraw from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly
Russia intends to suspend its membership in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and halt its payments to this body. This information was reported by Kommersant, noting that the initiative from the Federation Council's International Affairs Committee has been supported by the council's chair, Valentina Matviyenko, while the State Duma announced the preparation of a draft law in this connection.
The OSCE includes representatives from 57 countries, including the United States, Canada, all European states, and six Central Asian countries. Russia has been a member of the organization since its establishment in 1975.
