National Security Service Involved in Sergei Grigoryan's 'Faz' Murder Case
The investigation into the murder of criminal authority Sergei Grigoryan, known as 'Faz', has also seen the involvement of the National Security Service (NSS). According to reports received by 'Joghovurd' newspaper, the NSS is assisting criminal investigation units in uncovering the details of the murder.
The law enforcement system has surrounded the church on the day of his wake, maintaining strict surveillance over the proceedings. This has been motivated by the fact that more than a week has passed since the murder, and it remains unsolved.
Armlur.am reported that, according to preliminary assumptions, Sergei Grigoryan was killed by hired assassins, with at least two individuals involved. They were found in a stolen OPEL vehicle.
Additionally, it has been reported that two years ago, judge Arusyak Aleksanyan was detained in connection to a case involving Sergei Grigoryan. In 2022, an incident occurred at the Center Court involving Rustam Stepanyan, known as 'Fat Rustam', and Sergei Grigoryan, known as 'Faz'. The incident took place in the courtyard of the Center and Norq-Marash district courts.
Supporters of 'Faz' and 'Fat Rustam' clashed, leading to intervention by police. Following the altercation, 'Faz' fled the scene, while 'Fat Rustam' later reported to the police. A criminal case was initiated; however, Rustam was not detained, while Sergei Grigoryan was arrested. Subsequently, judge Arusyak Aleksanyan released him on a bail of 2.5 million drams. Law enforcement officials deemed the judge's action illegal, resulting in Aleksanyan's detention.
Currently, the judge is at liberty, but the court case concerning the abuse of official powers is still ongoing. It is important to note that multiple theories are being examined in the investigation of 'Faz's' murder, including his relationship with 'Fat Rustam'; however, the pace at which the murder is being uncovered is not encouraging,” the newspaper writes.
