North Korea Stands in Solidarity with the Russian Army Regarding Special Military Operations, Says Kim Jong Un

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, during negotiations with Vladimir Putin, emphasized Russia's role in maintaining strategic stability and balance globally. He also expressed support for Russia's military operations in Ukraine.

Kim Jong Un believes that Russia plays a significant role in "maintaining strategic stability and balance in the world." He stated, "The government of the DPRK expresses complete support and solidarity with the Russian government, army, and people in conducting a special military operation in Ukraine to defend sovereignty, security interests, and territorial integrity."

According to him, the relations between Russia and the DPRK are entering a new phase of high prosperity, which cannot even be compared to the era of Korea-Soviet relations from the last century. Kim Jong Un expressed confidence that "the warm friendship between the two countries will be strengthened like a monolith."

Putin responded by saying that Russia "greatly appreciates the consistent and unwavering support" of the DPRK, including regarding the situation in Ukraine.

The DPRK's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the battlefield in Ukraine has "turned into a graveyard for U.S. and NATO weapons." The ministry compared the military aid provided to Kyiv by Washington to a hallucinogenic substance. In March, the DPRK's Ministry of Defense declared that the U.S. defeat in Ukraine is merely a matter of time.

Vladimir Putin arrived in North Korea yesterday, June 18. In an article published prior to his visit, he stated that Russia "greatly appreciates the strong support of the DPRK" in its military operations in Ukraine and will support the Korean people in their struggle against an "insidious, dangerous, and aggressive enemy for their independence."
