Retail chains in Russia are tightening their oversight of suppliers in response to recent incidents of salad poisoning, companies have informed RIA Novosti.

On Sunday, Moscow's Deputy Mayor Anastasia Rakova reported that 121 individuals sought medical assistance showing symptoms similar to botulism, with 55 in serious condition, and 30 of those in intensive care.
