‘If Putin Acts Arrogantly, We Won’t Go to Russia Either’ - Hovik Aghazaryan

There may come a time when such a decision is made. This was stated by Hovik Aghazaryan, a member of the National Assembly from the Civil Contract party, in an interview with News.am, commenting on why the Prime Minister speaks about not going to Belarus, but no similar statements are made regarding Russia.

“The president of Belarus behaves arrogantly. If Putin also acts arrogantly, such an initiative may arise among us. Do you think the Prime Minister just decided out of the blue? There are conversations among us, we talk, we discuss. Lukashenko has come with our neighboring state, with which we have hostile relations, while with him we have allied relations, and he makes brazen statements, exceeding limits. That’s why he has received that kind of assessment.

It can be said calmly that Russia is behaving very poorly in selling so much weaponry to our enemy state. However, I don’t consider that a substantial argument because they could have gotten it from elsewhere as well. Moreover, within the framework of the CSTO, Russia has not been up to standard either. Of course, we shouldn’t place all the blame on Russia and Belarus, as we also have our share of guilt. In this context, we need to provide our assessment. At this moment, there is no need for that; we don’t know what will happen in Russia tomorrow,” stated Hovik Aghazaryan.
