I Don’t Know About Border Demarcation, But Azerbaijanis Are Already Installing Barbed Wire on Our Land, Says Community Council Member
The community administration was not informed that a representative from the government was coming, perhaps we also had questions to ask. This was stated by Masis Zeynalanyan, a member of the community council of the Tegh village in the Syunik region, in an interview with NEWS.am.
According to him, attendees at the meeting included the community leader, QP member Ghulunts, his uncle, and local residents. When asked if residents were also selected, he replied, “I don’t know; they brought children, educators. Just as they like to talk about the past, they used to bring educators to meetings in the past, and now it’s the same.”
“The Prime Minister went to Shikahogh, people raised their concerns, and now I also wanted to ask my questions as a resident and a council member. I’ve asked once before, even submitted a written request, but I haven’t received a response to this day. I wanted to show personally and say, ‘Look at what kind of water people are drinking, let me show you the border, see how far the Turk has come and where he is standing.’ Despite the fact that he knows, I just wanted to see what response would be given,” he added.
Commenting on the possible border demarcation, Masis Zeynalanyan stated, “Azerbaijanis are already putting up barbed wire. I don’t know what kind of border demarcation will take place, but the fact that they are already installing barbed wire on our land is certain. Wherever they stand, they have put up barbed wire there. They did this recently; ours have done the same.”
