Turkey Builds Barbed Wire Fence at Iran Border in Van: What is the Aim?

In Turkey's eastern region, a barbed wire fence has been constructed along the border between Turkey and Iran in the Van province. According to Ermenihaber.am, the construction work on a 173 km section of the wall has been completed, while barbed wire has been secured only on 163 km of that section.

Turkish media reports simultaneously indicate that the purpose of this fence is to prevent illegal migration and incidents of border crossings by individuals associated with groups recognized as terrorist organizations by Turkey.
