The War Could Spread Rapidly: Germany Issues Warning
Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has warned of dangerous consequences for Berlin and NATO if aid to Ukraine is reduced. This has been reported by DW's Russian service.
"If we do not continue to support Ukraine, there is a risk that Putin's forces will stand on the border with Poland, and then the war will rapidly spread within the EU and NATO. It is difficult to calculate how much we will have to pay if we are forced to defend our own freedom and independence. Ultimately, it comes down to one thing: support for Ukraine allows us to keep the war far from us," she stated.
Baerbock also cautioned about the threat of a new wave of refugees. The German Foreign Minister pointed out: "If Ukraine is no longer able to defend itself, and I address this mainly to those who refuse to provide assistance to Kyiv, millions of people will be forced to flee. After all, who would want to live voluntarily under the conditions of torture and occupation?"
