The US, South Korea, and Japan to Sign Agreement Against North Korea
The United States, South Korea, and Japan are set to sign an agreement this year aimed at countering the nuclear "threat" posed by North Korea. This was reported by Bloomberg agency.
According to the publication, the agreement will formalize the security partnership among the US, South Korea, and Japan in response to the threats from North Korea's nuclear arsenal.
South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik stated in an interview with Bloomberg that he will soon meet his American and Japanese counterparts to sign the relevant document. He emphasized that the priority will be to create a "system that allows for a more effective, rapid, and coordinated response to North Korea's nuclear and missile threats."
It has been reported that the agreement is expected to be signed before the inauguration of the next US president. Meanwhile, it was previously announced that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) wishes to resume cooperation with North Korea.
