Bishop Speaks on Suren Petrosyan's Disappearance on June 12
Suren Petrosyan is not in the country and will be absent for a couple of days. This was stated by Bishop Bagrat, the leader of the 'Tavush for the Homeland' movement, during a conversation with journalists at Yerablur.
According to him, they spoke with Petrosyan after the mysterious events that unfolded near the National Assembly on June 12. 'His disappearance has the characteristics of an abduction. He said there was a black car involved, and they seemed to have identified themselves as from the NSS (National Security Service),' the bishop noted.
According to his information, after getting into the car, they headed towards Hrazdan. What was the purpose of all this? The bishop is not sure but believes it is related to the movement and gaining information about him.
It is worth mentioning that on June 12, during a rally on Baghramyan Avenue, clashes occurred between police and supporters of the movement, where police were throwing flash-bang grenades towards citizens. During this time, Petrosyan mysteriously disappeared, and no one had seen him. For about a day, there was no news about him, but on June 13, he got in touch with his family. Shortly thereafter, he announced on the official page that he had been abducted by four individuals in civilian clothing and taken in an unknown direction. Bishop Bagrat also declared that Petrosyan had been kidnapped, and it is highly likely that these were security forces.
