101 Illegal Crawfish Traps and 7 Fishing Nets Removed from Lake Sevan
The Environmental Ministry's Eco-Inspection Agency, in cooperation with the regional offices of Gegharkunik and Kotayk, conducted preventive inspection measures once again.
According to reports from the Environmental Ministry, as a result of these measures, 101 illegal crawfish traps and 7 fishing nets were removed from the water areas of the Norashen Sanctuary and the coastal zone adjacent to the Sevan community.
The discovered traps and nets have been relocated to a specially protected area, while the crawfish were released back into the lake. The ongoing preventive inspection measures are of a continuous nature.
