Every Case of Disproportionate Use of Physical Force by Police Must Receive Immediate Legal Assessment: Ombudsman

During visits to police departments and medical institutions, recorded cases will be referred to the prosecutor's office. This was announced by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia.

"Every case of disproportionate use of physical force by the police must receive immediate and proper legal evaluation. The question of whether special measures were applied in accordance with established criteria and procedures should also be a subject of special discussion," the Ombudsman stated.
