Our Police Have Long Since Ceased to Instill Fear, Sometimes Unfortunately They Do Not Instill It at All, Says MP
There is no concern, it is a regular rally; such rallies have taken place dozens, if not hundreds of times in recent years, even with larger and more aggressive rhetoric. This was stated by MP Armen Khachatryan from the ruling party during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly, responding to comments regarding the gathering of several dozen people on Baghramyan Avenue, while a significant police presence is concentrated near the National Assembly, and whether the authorities are worried and about what.
“The police have always been able to solve the problems before them in a rather calm manner. This is just another of the rallies. If the law enforcement officers have determined that such a level of force is necessary, then it must be done,” he noted.
When asked whether the authorities aim to create an atmosphere of fear in this way, the ruling party MP replied, “I do not think there is a person in Armenia who is afraid of a representative of the government police. Our police have long since ceased to instill fear, sometimes unfortunately they do not instill it at all.”
