VIDEO: Streets Blocked in Yerevan, Arrests Made
Supporters of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement have blocked streets in Yerevan starting early this morning for a limited time. The police reported to "Azatutyun" that one participant of the protest has been arrested for failing to comply with a police officer's legal request.
The "Tavush for the Homeland" movement, demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister, has kept Baghramyan Avenue closed for two days. They have set up tents there and have been spending the night on the avenue.
The movement, which arrived from Tavush a month ago, has been conducting acts of civil disobedience, holding meetings with political forces and professional circles, and organizing rallies not only in Yerevan but also in the regions.
At the rally the day before, the leader of the movement announced that they are entering a decisive phase and must achieve the removal of the government and Prime Minister Pashinyan within four days, expressing a willingness to discuss other political solutions as well.
