Preparation of Agreement with Iran Temporarily Suspended: Russian Foreign Ministry
The process of preparing a comprehensive cooperation agreement between Russia and Iran has been suspended, but temporarily.
This was reported to RIA Novosti by Zamir Kabulov, the head of the second Asian department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The process has, of course, stopped due to issues with our Iranian partners,” Kabulov stated.
The agency’s interlocutor indicated that he has no doubt that work on the agreement will eventually be completed.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed with Iran's acting foreign minister Ali Bagheri the completion of work on the text of the new comprehensive cooperation agreement.
