Paint Splashed on Barclays Branches in the UK in Support of Palestine
Activists from the Palestine Action movement have splashed red paint on nearly 20 branches of the British Barclays Bank across England and Scotland in support of Palestine, it was reported on June 10.
“Palestine Action and the Shut the System movement have targeted 20 Barclays branches in England and Scotland,” stated a post on the activists' page on the X social media platform.
Accompanying images show that some branches of the financial institution also had their windows broken. The movement participants accuse Barclays of funding the genocide in Gaza, as it invests in Elbit Systems, a company that develops weapons in Israel.
The City of London Police reported on X that three men aged 34 to 45 were arrested following an act of vandalism at a bank branch near the Moorgate tube station. They were tracked through camera footage.
