Fatal Accident: Honda Crashes into Barrier, Engine Ejected; 24-Year-Old Driver and Passenger Die
On June 10, at 00:51, the crisis management center of the Ararat regional rescue service received an alert that an accident had occurred on the bridge near the village of Azatavan, with injuries reported and assistance from rescuers required.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a firefighting and rescue team had been dispatched from the regional rescue service to the scene. It was determined that a Honda vehicle (driven by A. T., born in 2000) had veered off the road and crashed into a highway dividing barrier. As a result, the engine was ejected from the vehicle and landed on the roadway, while a VAZ vehicle subsequently collided with the ejected engine.
Before the arrival of the rescuers, the driver of the Honda and the passenger G. N. (born in 2000) had been extricated from the vehicle and transported to the medical center, where they were pronounced dead. Rescuers attended to one of the injured and carried out road cleansing operations.
