Photos: Huge Boulders Fall onto Vanadzor-Dilijan Road

A significant incident occurred today in the Lori Province. At around 08:00, the national crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia received a call reporting a rockfall on the 1st km section of the Vanadzor-Dilijan highway.

A team from the Vanadzor Fire and Rescue Unit No. 36 was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined that several massive boulders had detached and ended up on the road's driving lane, necessitating special equipment for their removal.

Patrol officers arrived and have since been placed on heightened alert until representatives from the road maintenance company arrive with the necessary machinery to clear the rocks.

Employees from the relevant department of the Lori regional administration have assessed that there is a risk of additional rockfalls.
