France and the US to Pressure Iran, Macron
France and the United States intend to exert pressure on Iran to compel it to "stop its actions destabilizing the situation in the region." This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron at a joint press conference with US President Joe Biden following talks at the Élysée Palace.
"Our countries are determined to apply the necessary pressure on Iran," said Macron, blaming Tehran for "destabilizing the situation in the region, missile strikes on Israeli territory, as well as its stance regarding the nuclear program." On the evening of April 13, Iran launched drones and missiles toward Israel, describing it as a response to "numerous crimes," including an attack attributed to Israel on the consular section of Iran's embassy in Damascus.
